Thanks Dave, but that doesn't work for me. (I've got that system by the way, and occasionally use it with muslins, but for rolls of paper it's very difficult to use and impossible with the three-roll system.)
I want to use a three paper roll system, with chains, that lets me raise/lower any of the three papers for use. But that "system" itself must raise up into the rafters when not in use and lower to about 12 feet off the ground for use. That's what I'm having a hard time figuring out.
The challenge is that my space MUST function properly as an art gallery. That's my business. Photography is only a passionate hobby for me and I can't let it get in the way of my business. Our track lighting system for the gallery doesn't allow me to use the walls for my b/g system and the ceilings are about 20' high.
It's a real challenge.
Cheers!

The nice thing about this is that it comes apart into a bag that you can stash in a closet until you need it. I've seen tons of studios that use those background kits. If you're not using it as a background stand, you can use the light stands as ...light stands. David Buzzard's Technical Blog |
