ok first trip with the XP1100 and batteries..

Ok, I am back from my trip.
I traveled with.
2- 600s strobes
1- XP1100 power pack
3- batteries for the XP1100
And everything else too.
All in a 1650 case too.

I was able to insurance from US airways for the case and everything inside.
Also it was only 5 bucks more plus the 25 bucks for being over 50 pounds too.
Overall no problems with the XP1100 batteries and TSA checking them out they are proved to fly on airplanes. Everything went well on the trip.
I spend a total of 60.00 bucks on the case not bad.

Re: ok first trip with the XP1100 and batteries..

Thanks for the input on the XP1100.

Mine is still back-ordered from a month ago. I have Profoto Compact 600's, will I be able to use both of them at the same time. I know that if I dial one of them down there shouldn't be a problem. But is it asking for trouble to run both Compacts at full power?

I notice you had 2 - 600 watt strobes on your trip. How did you configure them?

Any issues come up?

Thanks again for your imput.

You can run 2 600 watt mono's at the same time no issues. I regulary use the 1200 watt pack and it never seems to have any problems. I have tried the 600 and 300 at the same time and seems there is plenty to spare. Great unit, highly recommend it , I got mine at B&H but Samy's in La has them also.

Guy:
Thanks for the info.

I've been playing with the idea of getting a 1200 Acute pack. If you get the pack and two head kit, you can get the third head for a $100.00. Tempting.......

Did I understand you to imply you were using a pack that size with no worries?

Thanks again.

The 1200 watt pack is a non issue with the Dynalite Xp1000 works perfect , use it all the time. Love it, so much better than a generator.

Re: ok first trip with the XP1100 and batteries..

I used a cord with two sockets on it. The pack is amazing.. I think I need more light stands at different levels.

Ricky..
I am using the batteries you can get from Dyna-lite for it. they are design and have the right info on them to fly with. They are 130 each and worth it.. I am planning on getting another pack and two more 600s too..

I am going to try the pack again in the woods this weekend. I have a friend with a quad that is going to help me out...
So it should be cool..

I am thinking about getting a 13 foot stand too. I think if I have the light pointing down the photos would look better too.
