profoto reflectors and grids

I want to start using 7" grids with my profoto acute setup. Is there a big difference between using the grid reflector for the grids, or using the grid holder on the zoom reflector for the grids?
Also, is there any reason I should not buy the speedotron 7" grids over the profoto 7" grids? The speedotrons are certaintly cheaper.
Thanks.

Re: profoto reflectors and grids

I started with the 7" grid reflector and recently bought the grid/filter holder. Do yourself a favor and just get a 7" grid holding reflector. The grid/filter holder is expensive and you've to take it off the zoom reflector to change the grid. And just buy the Speedo grids, same effect, less money.

Re: profoto reflectors and grids

Be careful, in my experience Speedotron 7" grids are the same as Dynalite, Balcar, White Lightning/Alien Bee, Elinchrom, but NOT the same as the Profotos. The Profoto grids were just a little bit bigger and the smaller grid wouldn't stay in the grid reflector. Since I have White Lightnings as well, I use their LiteMod holder on the standard Profoto reflectors to hold the Speedotron grids.
