Using COLORRIGHT in the Studio

For the most accurate results in the studio you should stand where your subject is standing, turn around and face the direction you will be shooting from, and take your reference shot from this position.

This is due to the unique nature of shooting in the studio. Monocolor backdrops and strobe lighting that does not reach the camera position make a regular reading unreliable in a standard studio environment.

If you are using strobes, rather than hot lights, remember to fire your strobes when taking this shot. Do not point the COLORRIGHT directly at the strobes as this will give an incorrect reading.
