HiTi P710L Event Printer

Yes i looked at Photomart after i read your last post and you are right i may call them regarding the media (every penny counts) also i noticed thay seem do a better deal on the 9 x 6 mounts, although the strut ones I buy from system insight do look better quality and can make all the diffrence in the final asking price of our prints normaly £10.00 - £15.00 depending on the event. we also use their clear plastic bags just to add the finishing touch. Regarding the Warranty i am not sure will have to check just took for granted it would be a one year warranty will have to check.

One other intresting thing is that System Insight have what is called a pro support package cost £100 on any printer but gives you a 1 hour response tel support, custom color profiles and a replacement loan printer in the event that mine has to be returned (Hope not) the good news is i pay nothing for the loan printer whilst mine is in the dock enabling me to continue makeing money.

Regarding getting the prints to the printer quick enough this weekend it is not a problem as we are shooting guest arriving at the venue (Red Carpet job) after the main event 2.5 Hours all the guest will be attending a cocktail bar where we will be waiting for them. All the prints will be out on the table ready for resale.

Normaly we would shoot wireless using a D200 Plus WT3 straight to a watch folder on a laptop. each viewing station then as a 22" monitor attached for customers to view.

However i was talking to Ian D Griffiths the other day ( Nice guy knows his stuff )and he was telling me that from time to time he produces proof sheets so that people were not taking up the viewing stations space, allowing the operator on the viewing station to handle sales quicker, people could look at the proof sheets get their print number then just come to the viewing station with a order as thay have allready seen a preview of their print.

Nice tip will bare this in mind i could see the benifits in his methord thanks for that Ian, nice review in this Pro Photographer by the way exerlant way of promoting www.event-photos.co.uk hope you get some good work from that, it shows the benefits of using a event comany that is geared up correctly and has the expereance to deal with large events. Did the first event with this new printer this weekend 2 evenings covering a Sex and The City opening at a local Cinema 240 winners of a RADIO comp all won free tickets and got the red carpet treatment. The event orgs provided models and a open top limo once the comp winners had come through we countinued with the models and the public it was a Great success. worked 6 hours over the two nights and sold over 400 prints.

Friday night we stuck to the original plan to shoot first give the customers a ticket to come and collect the photo after the film was a flop big mistake. we give our self a 15 min selling window (never again) people just wanted to get home we grab what we could (25-30 print) Sales (never never again).

Saterday Night we set up next to where the models were i shoot wirless on the d200 using a 17-55 2.8 by the time the girls got 4 steps down to the workstation the print was on the screen ready for them to view, 1 print 2, 3, 4 or 5 asks our operator adverage sale was 3 prints. the new HiTi P710L just threw them out 100% bang on no problems at all.

I have got to say if this printer was not as fast as it was we would have only sold half the prints because people would not have waited.

Only first event with the new HiTi P710L 100% inpressed, highly recommended get one.
