Re: Event Photography and Apple Mac

I'm selling a Tri-Prisim program key that has unlimited usage for $1500. It'll Save you a couple of bucks. Their support is secound to none. No complaints.

Thanks for the offer. In light of the forthcoming world wide ecomonic downturn, saving a few pennies is always to be appreciated.

Prey tell...Then, why are you then selling the key? JC

Re: Event Photography and Apple Mac/Update

Further research has convinced me that using a laptop both has a Viewing Station and printing Hub is a bad idea. So I've decided to employ an iMac has a Viewing Station, leaving the laptop to do the rest . I can pick up a nice used iMac for next to nothing (the new iMacs are a bad idea due to their flat screen and the issue of transportation thereof). I've dramatically changed my mind as regards the printer. I am now of the opinion that either Olympus P-400 or the Kodak 8500 is the way to go. I should be able to purchase either machines for under £800 and on a one year interest free credit deal. I've also just read on another thread a PS action for a Green Screen background. Things are getting interesting.

Re: Event Photography and Apple Mac/Update

You might also want to consider an eMac. Right now I believe that they are about $800 new.

It's got a CRT screen etc.

I have an iMac DV that we take with us to the various shoots that I need to show the client images on a "real monitor" (a client quote - after having viewed images on a laptop) TENBA makes cases for the iMac and they hold up well.

JanAL makes cases for the eMac these are more of a ATA flight case style. So it's going to add more weight.

Both of these case companies have websites if you'd like to check out their offerings.

Cheers,
Phil

Re: Event Photography and Apple Mac/Update

Phil!

Do we know each other because you have been reading my mind. In the UK, the E-Macs are really under valued machines and this morning I saw them being advertised on the Shayle Website for £600 (for a 1 Ghz Combo). As for the cases, I may have to have them made for me, cos neither of the companies you have mention sell these cases in the UK. I think Sully and Mulder maybe wanting to have a word with you. Anyway I've got to move fast, if I'm to catch the XMAS rush! Thanx again for the tips.

Re: Event Photography and Apple Mac/Update

In regards to your question on the Tri-Prisim Key.
I've decided to take my photography in a different direction. Working on-line and assignment work. I enjoy using mac versus PC for alot of reasons and found the people at Tri-Prisim to be very helpful.

Re: Event Photography and Apple Mac/Update

Does anyone know what $1500 is in pound sterling? Good luck with the change in direction, Mark. Everyone is having a hard time of it at the moment, either side of the pond. You have to do, what you have to do to live and survive....Or am I sounding off like Donald Rumsfeld. John
