Re: how much supplies

You didn't mention, what do you plan to do with the prints? Sell them? Also you didn't mention HOW MUCH you will be printing and what size prints you will be making?

Also, in my opinion, the best way to do things is have a lab with a fuji frontier print my digital images for me, I find it cheaper (especially if you plan to print a lot).

Re: how much supplies

My experience has been about 50 8x10 prints at highest quality ect. Take Extra paper and ink you are going to need it for other jobs right? Take PLAIN paper to just in case you have to run a test sheet or print head aliginment, use plain paper untill you sort it out. I use the cannnon s900.

Let me know how the shoot goes. Mark

Re: how much supplies

I will be shooting at a hockey tournament, selling 8x10 size prints, or 2 5x7's per sheet, selling on site to parents.

I'm not sure how to figure out how many supplies...ink and paper to bring to last the day??????

Simple... Take a case of each. Its not going to go bad, your going to use it in the near future. And losing a sale because you didn't want to stockup on paper and ink is going to make you want to kick your self in the butt!

I always try to have twice as much as I expect to do at any event. There just isn't any reason to not.

As to an actual number for your tournament. Hard to say lots of varibles. Starting with number of teams. Also you didn't say how you are proofing which will obviously make a big difference in paper/ink needs.

Re: how much supplies

Again it depends on the size of the event and how much you print. Cannon says you get something like 100 sheets per set of inks. I usally get somewhere around 60-80 sheets before I need to change a cartridge, then the others come up from there.

It is probly save to figure on using a set a day. Depending on the # of kids you will be shooting of course. If its a three day event buy 5 sets and you'll be safe. What ever you do printing wise in the first few days double that amount for the last day.

Word of advice be very careful using an inkjet in an ice rink. Make sure you are putting your prints into some type of plastic as there will be a lot of water droplets around to damage your prints.

I found this out the hard way with a 20x30 poster.
