Re: Event Printers : Advice needed

I have used the 8600 with the PCevent and PRo. Although I do I like the fact that the spooler of these programs utilizes both printers at the same time, the total cost for the setup sucks.

I recently switched to 2 epson 890's. The prints off of these are just as fast, better quality, and last just as long ( 20-25 years on Heavywight matte. They hook up usb and are veryeasy to set up.

The best thing is the price per print. A color cartridge costs $27.00 and a pack of 100 sheets is $24.00. (The black cartridges last forever when printing color pictures.)
If you do the math a sheet costs $ .51.

Since I have switched to thiseverybody loves it. I have done tests to see if they fade, bleed, etc. and the results are stunning, very minor damage after severe sun for 3 months. I have ran the prints under water and they don't bleed. They look almost new after they dry.

In conclusion If you can't afford the mega systems, or just want to make more of a profit look into the Epson 890's
