While I haven't shot dressage, I recently shot jumpers and my guess is they have pretty much the same type of clients.
We shot the show digitally and while the average sale was quite high, they are demanding. Very demanding. Often they buy photos to show their trainers (if the horse was perfect). About as often they buy for themselves. However, the best customers were the "owner-operators," as we called them; meaning they owned and rode the horse.
We had two cameras covering 3 rings and if I was to do it again, I would have a camera at each ring, even if that meant extra down-time.
And if shooting horses, well, watch where you walk.
