I could be in the wrong nest /wth here goes

I soon will be producing images for my web site for events i cover. What i would like to achieve is : 1)one full size image to supply a print of 7x5 or 10x8 max size these must be spot on . I am using ps55 which shows
72dpi in image size ,how can i keep it at its
max . Unless i can find some more money for memory card i will have to use fine jpeg .If this is not a good idea please advise.

What do you mean with this? Keep it at it's max makes no sense since 72dpi is it's min.

Sorry Norbit, what i mean is when you bring an image into photoshop it is already at 72 dpi

Roy,

What megapixel camera are you using? Anytime you bring a photo into PS is defalts to 72 pixels. I shoot with a D30 and when I bring the image into PS it brings it in as a 20x30 72 dpi image. I use a Kodak dyesub printer that prints at 300dpi so I just set the res at 300 dpi in PS.

Yes but what are the dimensions in inches?

Not exactly. In order to get an 8x10 you should check Constrain Proportions and Resample Image < Bicubic. Type 8 inches where it says 20 it will automatically give 12" for the 30".

Double click on the Crop tool and check Fixed Size and type 8 and 10 respectively, then go into the picture and crop.
