You speak of loading pics onto a computer network using a custom program, then having them view the proofs.

I am curious if you are doing this on a computer on-site or are transmitting the images back to another location via modem, or are you uploading to the web where clients can browse and select and order.

I like the system that http:www.photocrazy.com utilizes for online ordering.

What is the package that you use based upon, Filemaker etc??
