Canon 5d mk2 and Zoerk PSA

I have opened up this post so as not to confuse matters on the
thread I originally started discussing this issue.....

I have tested my Zoerk PSA /Pentax 35mm with the canon 5d mk2
and have not seen the Past Infinity focus issues that Paul has.
however quite bad vignetting at the edges and the exif is reporting
a 50mm lens when in fact its a 35mm
see test at
http://www.prophotohome.com/forum/at...1&d=1237408291

raw file, processed in Breezebrowser pro, no sharpening +1 ev
to show detail in wall, it was hazy today however the wall in the
building was beyond infinity on the lens

Re: Canon 5d mk2 and Zoerk PSA

I forgot to mention the vignetting issue. Not sure at all why that happens as the 1ds MKII was also a full frame sensor and it didn't have this issue at all, or the 1ds MKI. In fact with any non Canon lens I have used on the MKII, you seem to get vignetting. It also seemed to totally throw off the exposure metering of the camera. This was especially true with I use the Contax 28mm F2.8. The vignetting was terrible and the meter was off also.

To be totally honest here. You can get pretty close to the Zoerk/35mm Pentax by just panning the camera on a tripod and then letting CS4 or CS3 combine the images. It will do a very good job and not leave anything hanging. It also combines the Zoerk images well, however if you leave a very dark border due to extreme shift, you need to cut that off before you combine the images in CS otherwise it will attempt to blend the black into the image.

Re: Canon 5d mk2 and Zoerk PSA

I guess its back to the manfrotto 303 pano head!!!!
not had any time to do any testing but good weather on the way this
week and I will see whats best and even do some comparison tests against
the 40d
the images I got with the 40 and the zoerk were and Im sure will still be great
but it would be good to get the 5dmk2 working with the zoerk, wonder if the
vignetting is affected by the f stop used. anyway will advise results of the tests
