I have a Nikkor 12-24 but prefer the new 18-200 DX mostly for the range but also lack of distortion. I don't like the fisheye effect on a non fisheye lense. True the build quality is lacking (what do you expect at the ProSumer price) but the glass is superb on the DX 18-200 AFS-VR. This lense was developed with the D200 in mind. They are made for each other. White Balance so easy, even our 5 year old can do it.- Melissa Strickland
