Re: Camera cases...

Speaking of cases and packing, I came across a good video today at the Strobist (Strobist: Chase is On the Case). The full length version, the one that I watch, is a half hour in length. The shorter one is ten minutes in length.

Ten Minute Brief Version...

YouTube - Chase Jarvis TECH: Packing Photography Gear (Basic)

Half Hour Version

Viddler.com - Chase Jarvis TECH: Packing Photography Gear (Advanced) - Uploaded by chasejarvis

Happy Viewing

Regards,
Kevin

Re: Camera cases...

I've brought the Think Tank belt system and also the holster for my 1D & 70-200. Very pleased, excellently made, feel they will last for years. Don't know what their bags are like.

Re: Camera cases...

I'm up against the same question. I do have a Think Tank Rotation 360 that I like for my everyday bag but I didn't consider it last summer when I was shooting and hiking in the Alps. It's just too heavy. I used an older LowePro trekker and didn't bring big glass because I didn't need it. Remember to factor in a couple liters of water and some clothing layers to your total weight too. Moose Peterson has done some thinking on the subject that you might want to read, here is the URL

Re: Camera cases...

I use Kinesis. Having carried gear on one shoulder for years, I highly recommend wearing your weight on your hips where the legs will support, not your back. Richard is the owner and will talk with you directly. Very light and durable. Had mine for years. Order to fit.
