Radio or infrared trigger needed

I have to take some action photos of motorcycles racing over a hill so that they have both wheels off of the ground. They have to be photographed from the side where there is no space for a photographer so I want to try to set up a trigger mechanism so that when the motorcycles break the beam the camera will fire. What do I need to do this and where do I find this equipment

hi Rob:- I bought one of these a while back. The longest I have gone is about 100ft indoors with it.

We've done two shows with it now. about 1000 shots per show and no issues.

Here's a link to the remote. Wireless Remote Control for Nikon D200 D100 MC-30 =156 - (item 160142054494 end time Jul-31-07 10:00:00 PDT)

Cheers
Chris

I want a beam to go across the track so that when the bikes interrupt the beam the camera fires similar to the way speed cameras work That way I can concentrate on other angles while the camera works away

Re: Radio or infrared trigger needed

I recently saw one that was being used for racing horses. I think it might have been on the think tank website as it was when I was looking at getting the Think Tank harness to wear. I dont see it saved as a bookmark, but you might also want to try outback photography website as well. Hope this helps. What kind of Camera? As I currently use my Pocket Wizards to remote control my Canon 30D and Mark 3 (until I can afford the wifi unit for it).

Rob,

I'm sure there are lots of things that would do the job, but someone was selling one of these Mumford Time Machines the other day and I did some research and it looks as though it would do what you need. And a great great deal more!! In fact the delay might be a clever thing for you to use to capture a moment after the beam is crossed.

Hope that helps at least a little.
