Pulsar radio triggers, anyone using?

Hi My name is Muse, new to the community here.

I've been doing pro portrait for a while and although I use wireless file transfer I was just looking at the latest systems for triggering your flash units. I like the idea of radio for this. I also noticed in the info that they can 'fire' the camera at distance, not knowing anyone using them I am curious to see how that happens.

If anyone has good or bad experience of these I'd like to know especially if you tried remote triggering the camera itself, I don't need it specifically it will just be fun to think of ways of utilising that feature.

Cheers

Re: Pulsar radio triggers, anyone using?

Greetings Muse,
I have been using a relatively inexpensive, Adidt, wireless control system to shoot remote shots of wary wildlife for several years now. Depending on how you set up your particular camera, you can have it focus and fire just as if you had your finger on the trigger.
I have used several different brands of wireless control but found that the cheapest, Adidt, was the most dependable with the longest range, also it doesn't seem to need a line of sight to function.
I hope this helps,

J.

Thanks J

I'll have a look for those, it is wildlife stuff I'd had in mind, just for fun as a side effect of having the triggers.

I'll have a search for them, if I can't find have you got a website for a supplier or manufacturer?

Cheers

Re: Pulsar radio triggers, anyone using?

Muse,
If you go to Eb*y, do a search for Adidt. Most of the hits are for "corded" models but if you look closely you will see a few the "wireless" ones.
Also, you can "Google" the same manufacturer and find a web site for same, especially handy to be able to read Japanese though.
Keep in mind that this is only one company that I happen to be familiar with, there are several others. You might try to search Eb*y for "wireless
Shutter release" or "remote shutter (release)" or something of that nature, be creative.
As I mentioned, the device I use is several years old and the technology changes, improves, and is renamed. I'm sure you will find a unit that will work well for you, and be economical and fun too. If you have any difficulties let me know, I'll try and help.

Enjoy!
J.
