Which Polarizer complements L series glass?

Yes, I checked the search feature before posting this and did not find the answer.

I don't want to spend any more money than necessary to get a good 77mm circullar polarizing filter. My only local purchase options are Canon and Quantaray. I keep hearing that Canon filters are just rebranded Tiffen filters???

Internal 77mm threads are highly desirable for lenshood simplicity.

Suggestions please folks.

My first choice is B+W, buts those get real pricey quick. My next choice is Hoya.

B+W expensive?? Well yeah, but why blow the wallet with the L series glass then get cheap with the filter and mess up the quality you want? B+W is always the way to go I always buy them and they are great...try B&H

I use B+W filters. They are expensive but worth it. I have bought the Tiffin

polarizer

in the past. It didn't last. The turning of the filter just got harder and harder to turn. The B+W filter is still turning freely. If you take care of them, The B+W filter should last for a long time.

Another vote for B+W filters. In my experience the optical coating on B+W filters is more effective in preventing flare and ghosting than that on Tiffen filters.

I have to reiterate one of the above comments. If you are spending large dollars on L glass, why would you compromise that glass by "viewing" through mediocre glass filter? I see little alternative but to buy B&W or at the very least Hoya Pro. If I bite the bullet and buy L lens, I will go B&W.
