The New Yorker Magazine has a fascinating article this week (April 11th issue) about the digital photography of the Met's famous "Hunt of the Unicorn" Tapestry. The back of the tapestry was photographed in sections and the intent was to stitch the sections together in Photoshop to reproduce and preserve a digital copy of the whole for further study. Well, not as easy as it sounds! Enjoy, its a great read!
Thanks! If you can arrange a visit to see them in person after the restoration, it will be worth the effort. I saw them as a kid, far too many years ago and I remember them vividly. They're awe-inspiring.
