Associate bar-code to a jpg?

Any knowledge of how to associate, relate or change a jpg number to a barcde either symbology 39, 93 or 128.
These are Alpha numeric code strings like: AGK7L HMTRL.
In which program isnot relevant iat this moment. Please take a look at this Mock Up site to see what I want to accomplish.

If I get what you're saying you can purchase a "dummy" bar code reader/gun. The gun will read the bar code and insert the information wherever you have the cursor - no additional software is necessary. The bar code reader connects to your computer by sharing the keyboard port (they come with an adapter). I have two of them and use them for naming images I shoot.
