Anyone use a Bogen 3423 Flexhead?

Has anyone used a Bogen 3423 Flexhead on a monopod with a 10D size camera with, say, a lens the size of a Canon 70-200 2.8L IS lens (3.3lbs)? The lens has a tripod collar, so I'd be attaching that to the head and rotating the camera in the collar.

Alternatively, what kind of head would you suggest? I have a Kirk BH-3 ball head on my tripod, but I don't really want to take it off every time I want to use the monopod.
