Need help using a Radio Slave and Hotshoe

The people from Canon told I should contact this site for a question I have. I currently do not have a digital camera, but I do want to get one, but I am having a problem finding a camera that will do what I have been doing with my Nikon F5. What I have been doing is using a Nikon Speedlight on a SC17 cord on a flash bracket. Then I also have a Quantum Radio Slave mounted on my bracket that is connected to the PC terminal. The Radio Slave is used to fire a Quantum Qflash. When I photograph wedding receptions I like to twin light.

The people from Canon said they have not tested the camera and cannot guarantee that it will work. They said the PC terminal is just the same as the D60 camera. Has any one tried doing this with the D60

I was looking at the Fuji S2 but the people at Fuji have told me the same thing that they have not tested to see if it will work. If you know if it would work with the Fuji that would be a lot better for me because I already have Nikon equipment.

Any help you can give me would be very appreciated

I'm using a D1x with a sc17 to a SB28DX flash. I am firing my Quantum T2 by connecting my pocket wizard transmitter to the pc connector on the sb28dx.

I just found out today that I could do this. Where are you mounting the pocket wizard transmitter? Are you taping it to the flash? I have a F5 and I connect the Radio Slave to the PC terminal on the camera. I have read from other photographers that they alway fire the slave from the camera PC terminal. I have been trying to find a way to mount the slave near or on the flash. I would be interested how you mount yours. I am not familar with the pocket wizard, do you know if it is smaller tha the Quantum Radion Slave 4i?

My quick flip stroboframe came with a shoe mount (not hot shoe). I drilled an additional hole on the left end of the flip-bar, screw mounted the shoe mount to hold the pocket wizard. I mount the base of the sc-17 to the right end of the bracket, this will fire ttl the sb28dx, I fire the PW off of the pc mount on the flash instead of the pc connector on the camera body which leaves less cord to get tangled in.

I use the PW the way your suggesting. I've put a velco patch on top of my flash and the opposite patch on my PW. I fire the pocket wizard from the PC jack on the camera. Haven't lost one yet.

I use the quantum radio slaves all the time.
Whatever you do - do not tape or attach your radio slave sender to the body of the flash. It will work some of the time - but mostly inconsistently - and it will make you nuts trying to figure out the problem. Many grey hairs later I read in the instructions - yep those little bits of paper we all ignore, that the sender should not be attached (I'm not referring to the cords that attach of course - just the body of the sender) to the flash unit itself. Since then, I have had no problems with them at all.

Pocket Wizards are just someone elses version of the quantum. The new PW's are fired using a digital signal and can be velcroed to the flash and work just fine. Sorry don't know anything about eh quantums
