| Re: Sigma DP1 Yes, but you will notice DPReview gave it a 9 rating for image quality—unprecedented in a point and shoot—and the image quality comparisons with the Nikon D60 are fascinating.
Clearly, the camera is a bit fiddly, clunky and slow handling, but so are a lot of cameras, particularly niche cameras. It's too bad the limitations of the DP1 will relegate it to a niche; perhaps Sigma will find a way to make a more generally appealing DP2? (I'm not optimistic; perhaps if Canon or Fuji did something similar?) While I'm a little disappointed with what I'm reading, I'm still in the market for a point and shoot and I would probably still buy a DP1 if RAW support was forthcoming for either Lightroom or at least iPhoto/Aperture. I simply cannot conceive of being dependent on Sigma's crappy software. White Balance so easy, even our 5 year old can do it.- Melissa Strickland |
