| Re: Buying a new point and shoot- canon, fuji, kodak, sony? Heather Hahn
I wasn't going to get into this thread, but your last comment about shooting kids and games forced my entry.
Nothing I have found to date in the so-called P&S genre of digicam will handle this subject matter, except by accident! Amazing that other responders to your original query don't address this issue. I don't care what other 'features' about a P&S -- lo noise at high ISO, viewfinder (incidentally, get a unit with diopter adjustment), zoom range, price, blah -- entrance you. The SHUTTER DELAY will kill you on active subject matter. Period!
If you (or any of the above responders) find a P&S without atrocious shutter delay, I'd like to know also. And so, yeah, I've been deeply into DSLRs for some years. But I would get a P&S for the reasons stated by all of you if there was not time to read a magazine between when I pushed the shutter button to actual recording of the intended subject matter.
