Any experience with the Samsung NV10?

I've been looking for a P&S for my partner that is light and simple to use and that won't drive me crazy (difficult criteria, that last one . . .). A Leica M8 is out of my price range

I played a bit with the NV10 at Glazer's in Seattle and it is a beautiful piece of work. The reviews are mixed, but the images from the reputable review sites look acceptable. Does anybody have real life experience with one?

Thanks, Doug

This is a great looking camera easy in you pocket too. I've no idea if it takes good pics, has raw, decent zoom, IS or much of anything. Where have you seen any information on it?

Re: Any experience with the Samsung NV10?

Here's a link to the NV10 review at DPReview. Got one for my partner and it is definitely a mixed bag -- wonderful build and pretty intuitive to work with, but not as much rendering control as I would like. Limited range of apertures as well. But, all in all, for a pocket camera not bad. If you can deal with a bigger camera the NV7 might be a better choice. The "vibration reduction" in the NV10 is DSP magic and doesn't appear to really work (e.g. just using a higher ISO setting seems to provide as much or more improvement). The NV7 uses something more like what is usually meant by VR (sensing motion in the camera and moving the sensor or elements of the lens to stabilize the image).
