Actually it is a file that didn't write correctly to the card. I've had this happen with several cameras. The problem turned out to be the cards.
I used to use a card brand called "Perfect Pix" and whenever a card was ready to "die" I would get an image like this. The company always replace the cards without cost.
I switched to Lexar and to Sandisk and have not had the problem since.
