Re: Which point and shoot with Raw files

The Leica D-Lux 3 has a raw facility, has a great f2.8 lens, full manual control, and is a great point and shoot camera. Apart from the lack of an optical viewfinder, it is the ideal point and shoot.

Re: Which point and shoot with Raw files

I've been using the Panasonic DMC-LX1, now obsoleted by the LX2 but not worth upgrading to. They need to address the noise issue, not add more megapixels.

If you don't shoot above ISO 200 and you process through ACR you get most of the noise out.

I got it instead of the Ricoh GR because it writes to the card quickly, so delay between shots is not a concern with a fast SD card. It's the only camera with a 16:9 aspect ratio, really neat from a wider viewpoint. And it's about the smallest camera that still shoots RAW.

No viewfinder though.

wrt the post above: Isn't the Leica D-Lux 3 the same thing as the Panasonic DMC-LX2 without the pricetag or longer warranty?

How are the start up times and shutter lag?
