| Sensor size In comparing the Panasonic Lumix FZ30 to the Canon S3, I noticed that the sensor size of the Panasonic
is listed as 1/1.8" with some 10megapixels, while the Canon is 1/2.5" with 6 megapixels.
Which is the larger sensor? I don't know how the 1/1.8" or 1/2.5" translate into something I could understand. 24mm x 36mm, or 15 x 22mm, this I'm used to. I know the digicams have much, much smaller sensors than that, but what do these figures actually mean? |
