Re: email address

Hi Folks,

Been really busy, so sorry for the late response with some images.
I'm just emailing John with an image shot at 200asa and one at 1600asa. Both are straight from the camera and supplied purely for evaluation of noise and no other usage.
John kindly said that he'd put them on a site and provide a link, so watch this space!

Edmond

Re: email address

The best silent (in all aspects) camera I've tested or used is the Leica Digilux 2/Panasonic LC1. There's no extending lens and you can prefocus with the lens barrel ring (just like my rangefinders). Primary cons: RAW best above ISO 100 but requires 6 seconds between frames, EVF. I've used several of them with external CV finders.

Cheers,

Sean

Thanks for the samples. Shooting them indoors under existing lighting is the perfect test because that's the situation we often use high ISO for. Any chance of seeing ISO 400 and 800 samples?

Cheers,

Sean

Re: email address

Hi Sean
I've found quite a few full size GR examples on Flickr.com, although iso 400 ones and above are hard to come by. Iso 154 seems to be a favourite for night shots. Have a look here http://www.flickr.com/photos/search/...l/tagmode:all/
(if you have a Flickr account you can choose to see the images at different>full size if the contributing photographer has uploaded the full size file).

To save you a bit of searching, here's an 800 iso shot (in b&w admittedly) but looks pretty good

a 1600 iso shot

and an iso 283 shot

(sorry just realised that last one is only available at 800x600, ah well)

Re: email address

Thanks John. I'm so impressed with what I've seen so far that I requested a GR for a formal review. It should be here next week and I look forward to trying it out. The look of the files is very appealing. BTW, Tony Rose is selling the GR in the USA: http://www.popflash.com.

Cheers,

Sean
