My beloved G9 is dead

I think I just posted this in the wrong section. Is it me that's confused or are the catagories a bit odd?

Anyway...

New here and looking for some one to share my grief.

My beloverd G9 has bitten the dust and seems to be dead - showing Lens Fault - and although its not a camera I use for work and will probably survive, I have a question:

I got a qoute of £150 to have it repaired. Should I stump up the money or buy another on on E-bay for similar money.

or...

Should I really bite the bullet and go for a G1x which looks pretty good to me with one problem... apart from the seven hundred quid

the G9 is, to a degree, weather proof. The new G1x doesn't seem to have that benefit.

What would you do?

Categories look fine, maybe you need a camera dictionary?
