Re: tracking clients

I've heard nothing but good things about PhotoByte. Be advised you'll need to get a FileMaker Pro license to run this app. PhotoByte is an overlay to FileMaker Pro. FileMaker is a good cross-platform solution that has been around for a long time and has an huge installed base of users.

If you're on Mac OSX the Address Book is a very good choice based on its simplicity and also because it operates as an integral part of the OS. If you're on Windows, Outlook is probably the easiest and simplest choice. Even the free e-mail accounts offered by Google and Yahoo have a pretty robust address book that operates on the standard .csv format. Those are really free! Plus the data is accessable on any computer in the world that is connected to the internet.

Don't complicate it if you don't have to.

I think PhotoByte includes a FileMaker runtime. I don't think you need anything to make it work.
