Proof sheets and pricing

I use Extensis Portfolio for printing proof sheets of selects from assignments (up to 16 per page) on either an Epson Stylus Photo 700 or Photo EX. The proof sheets go into sheet protectors and are then sent to the client.

I give my best client one free set of proofs from each assignment and charge $20/sheet for extra sets. Everybody else is billed $20/sheet. For first-time clients, I also include a custom binder which I bill $15 for.

Is anybody else using a proofing method similar to this and, if so, are my prices in line with what you're charging?

Regards,
Billy

Re: Proof sheets and pricing

I charge for the initial set of proofs. An assignment where you shoot 230 images in a day will suck up more of your post shoo time and material than one where you spend the whole day setting up and shooting 2 location still lifes. I would also charge a fee for each digitally adjusted/processed file you deliver to your client. Charge one fee to take the images, but be sure to be compensated for the time it takes to prepare an image for the output requirements they have.

Re: Proof sheets and pricing

The $20/sheet has nothing to do with the creative or usage fees.
