A couple of things to consider.
(I am using a PC not MAC, but some of this might help)
If the puck is not being seen, it's more than likely a driver. Have you recently upgraded the OS? The Sony has not been supported by anyone now for almost 2 years. You might consider deleting it totally and doing a reinstall of the software.
There was never any 64 bit support the puck or the software, but not sure if that has any effect on MAC.
The other possiblity, is the script that runs the calibration has been corrupted. I had this happen and got a similar error. Karl Lang (he as a site) wrote a new script for the MAC and from I have read it take out this issue and the never ending delay issue. The script will not work on a PC at least on mine and it made things actually worse. But Karl appears to be all MAC and I believe he tested the script on a MAC.
Worst case, you can still calibrate with a eye one puck. You will need to pull all the Sony software off the machine and then install the eye one software.
It's kinda of sad, IMO. Sony just dropped the whole thiing, no support no nothing. Unfortunately they made a monitor that did work and worked quite well.
thanks Paul,
Do you have Karl Langs site?
I seemed to solve the problem by just unplugging/ replugging usb cord.
Thanks for tip on eye one if software does out. At that point though you are just using a basic monitor right? defeats whole purpose of artisan no? maybe the montior is special in itself??
Who is running this site?
Drew no longer answers e mails.
They are putting gross ad inside posts??
The reply button is camoflauged in light grey.
Bad things going on here

This will get you to the site, the patch is 1.39vr I believe. It should work fine on a mac.
As for the eye one, it will see the Sony Artisan as just any other monitor. You will have to totally delete the sony software. I left the usb that runs from the monitor cord pluged in, and uninstalled the puck.
You then just install the eye software and use their puck in place of the Sony when you calibrate, probably not perfect, however my Sony still comes on each day and I can't justify getting rid of it. It is starting to get a high flicker rate on a pure white however that may be it's undoing, it's hard on the eyes.
I assumed it was still Drew, but it has turned into a less than ideal forum with the ads. Not sure what reduction of Stomach fat has to do with Photography. Especially since all they are doing is stretching the image.
