I was going to post this in the Color Balance Tool forum, but I don't quite understand the article format. If I'm in error in doing this, please feel free to move or delete this thread.
I just wanted to offer some constructive criticism to Drew and comment that in many of the ColorRight advertisements and articles, a number of images that being touted as "better" via the use of the ColorRight are
in my opinion overly yellow.
Outside, in daylight, one expects to see more blue/cyan in images simply because the sky is blue. Eliminating that entirely yields a jaundiced look. There was a recent review article in which the ColorRight was shown to "improve" the color of some images of what looked like a couple of newlyweds. In many of the comparisons to my eye the "before" image actually looked better and more natural.
For example, the ad image that perpetually shows over to the right in the forums, described by one member as "the lady with the yellow eyes", frankly comes across as too yellow from where I sit. This would be a better color balance for the skin tones in that image, in my opinion:
I really don't want to come across as overly critical, rather I'd like to know whether other folks think as I do that a lot of the ColorRight ad images are too warm/yellow. I know I have my monitors calibrated properly; am I just more sensitive to the yellow than others?
