Re: Eye One Display 2--worse after proflling

Alan,
That is a superb suggestion. I downloaded the demo version and there is very minimal banding.

Did you give this a try Lloyd?? Its well worth trying the fully functioning demo.

Many Thanks,

Edmond

Thanks for the feedback Edmund. My results are also positive. I'm seeing more visible shadow detail and smoother tonal transitions.

Re: Eye One Display 2--worse after proflling

Email X-Rite support, if you can't phone them.

They reply!

Something has to be wrong.

I calibrate my 30" Apple display with GM-X-rite stuff (Eye One Photo UV Cut bundle) and it does the Apple monitor quite well. No distortions noticeable....though the 30 Display does have some unevenness across the whole screen. That unevenness is better than most othyer LCDs I have checked out. But it is there. Calibration cannot do anything about that. And it is minimal in actual use.

that said, I did a check of my Eye One expensive calibrator against the cheaper X-Rite OPtix xr Pro Edition, and the results with monitors were exactly the same. So your machine should do it.

Call them and complain....icely. They do try to help. At least they did with me.

Mark
