Re: Dual Monitor Calibration & Profiling

Just so everyone is clear on this. Any of the available monitor calibration tools will work with 2 monitors so long as they are built to launch two copies of the app. Most are. Beyond that it is not as simple as ATI will always work. Many ATI drivers do not provide two storage locations in the Registry for profiles. There are no problems that I am aware of related to Lut loader programs and video card support. Most dual headed cards support 2 luts and most lut loaders work with most cards. Again the only problems these days with dual moniotrs and calibration and profiling is whether or not you can load and recall two profiles. Many of
ATI's drivers have fixed this problem and the Windows color applet is the other solution. All either of these is doing is providing a place for the profiles.

Re: Dual Monitor Calibration & Profiling

I only discovered the windows applet today. I looked into the dual-monitor XP calipration issue last year and only ran into a dead end so I gave up on calibration altogether.

Now that I have a solution (I tried it and it works for me with the /L switch) my question is - do I need to run anything else at all? Or all I need to generate two accurate profiles and load them with the XP color applet loader on startup? I guess I'll start looking for a budget colorimeter... BTW is there anything preventing me from just borrowing one from somebody?

I use a dual-DVI geforce 6600GT and two Dell 2001FP monitors in Dualview mode.
Serge.
