Thank you for your concern.

This is a true story.

I mentioned it here, though, just to make a pun on "cosine".

Best regards,

Doug

I'm sure she's probably aware of the many different ways to postpone these payments.

In a situation like this, the last thing she should be worrying about is paying back student loans.

Years ago, in another life, I worked at SFA (Student Financial Assistance) in DC on a consulting project.

She may want to look into one of the following:

forbearance (government pays any interest during non-payment period)
deferment (you pay interest, or capitalize it)
economic hardship (i forget what happens to the interest here)

These are usually very simple to get and you do not have to have a federal direct loan to get them.

Here is a link for more information. It looks like they have changed their name to FSA instead of SFA.

Yes, and she has essentially "worn out her welcome" for most of those recourses. Still, we are having her re-examine them. (She's been in a difficult financial situation for some while.)

Thanks so much for the information and for your concern.

Best regards,

Doug

Re: COLORRIGHT works better with flash than competition

My perception:

Drew shows where his product does what it's designed to do better than a substitute product (that may in fact be designed to do its job another way).

Then Doug jumps in and analyzes every pixel, word, and punctuation mark, apparently finding fault with a great many things and picking every nit.

I think the point here is that measuring white balance from the shooting position pointed at the subject is a viable way to approach certain types of photography, and the ColorRight is a tool to help do it well.

Doug, forgive me if I'm misinterpreting your intent (and I'm sorry to hear about your family financial issues which are no doubt stressful), but why do you feel it necessary to put this much effort into (what appears to be) picking apart Drew's product every time he posts about it?

Face it: Drew's ColorRight image looks better than the other one. Your ColorRight image of your wife looks just fine. Is there an honest need to take it further than that?

-Noel

Well stated Noel. Doug, you are obviously very knowledgeable about the subject matter of light but you are coming across as very frustrated and are taking out your frustrations on Drew. You do need to back off. Thanks.

Ron

My apologies to all my colleagues here for my unseemly questioning of Drew's statements about the Color Parrot and ColorRight diffusers.

He is certainly entitled to his outlook, and to the quiet enjoyment thereof. I regret having disturbed that.

Best regards,

Doug
