Re: ISO and storage capacity

Is most of your work with flash? If so I have no experience with it. Nature and wildlife might be a different thing. There is no doubt the D30 is a good camera.

Re: ISO and storage capacity

Usten-

I avoid using flash whenever possible in my current work. I have worked as a photographer for 20+ years. I have worked the last 16 years as a staff photographer at a Newspaper doing general assignment work. In those 20+ years, I have done Nature photography as well as commercial and studio photography. Using a D1 I was daily confronted by its image quality limitations compared to film, I felt a loss. I don't feel that loss using a D30.

The D30 lacks in other areas relative to the D1 and Film bodies in general. Of the two- D1/D30 I would always take the D30 first, its image quality outweighs all its other limitations.

--So far, after 2 weeks with the D30. I do worry how it will weather the winter

Re: ISO and storage capacity

I missspell all the time :-). No problem.

Yes the D1 is less film like. Sometime I think the colors are more natural. That does not(!) mean it makes the photo better. The nature of film gets the photo more expressive. I still love Kodachrome 25.

Just playing a bit with the Nik color Efex Pro polarisation filter which removes the hazy feel and improves saturation.
