40D in use - wedding shots from Saturday

My first night out with the 40D was this past Saturday. Here are a sampling of shots.

Focus - TONS better than the 30D -nearly as good / fast as a 1D.
Tonal quality/ IQ - big step up. Not sure I'd say it's as good as a Mk3 or 5D, but it's damn close.
Highlight priority is awesome!

RAW, converted in DPP - faithful pic style, +1 contrast, +1 saturation, +1 color tone, 3 sharpness.
Opened in CS3 - USM 200%, .3, 3.
Resized as you see here.
USM 30, .7, 3
Save for web.
NO curves, no other adjustments at all - nothing.
Info per pic added as needed:

70-200 2.8 IS ISO 100 F2.8@ 70mm, Av mode
http://i.pbase.com/o6/77/624677/1/85...tJohnston_.jpg

85 1.8 at F2, ISO 800 1/1000, Av mode
I did a bit of blur on her cheek/chin/forehead.

17-55 2.8 IS lens @ 55mm, F4.5 1/60 at ISO 800
http://i.pbase.com/o6/77/624677/1/85...tJohnston_.jpg

Same people, same pose, outside now
70-200 2.8 IS @ 160mm, F4 1/800 at ISO 100
http://i.pbase.com/o6/77/624677/1/85...tJohnston_.jpg

And lastly a high-ISO to show the worst of the worst this machine can do.
I didn't do the initial USM on this, and there is NO noise reduction, not even in DPP. There was NO flash for this image.
17-55 2.8 IS @ 17mm, F 2.8 1/40 at ISO 3200 Tv mode
(Yes I work in DARK places )

Chris, I'm getting the FORBIDDEN message when I try to access the images.

They all worked for me earlier without issue. And I just tried an image again to see if that was still the case and it is. I just clicked on the link. Nothing more.

Just passing this information along.

I too got the "Forbidden" message when I tried. I'm on a Mac. Could that somehow be a problem?

Re: 40D in use - wedding shots from Saturday

Very interesting. I can save them and look at them, but can't view them in the browser. Must be a browser function problem. I'm on WinXP with IE, so obviously it's not a platform related problem. I tried disabling my Firewall temporarily, which didn't help, so I'm not sure that it's a anti-virus related problem. Ordinarily, I would say it's probably because I'm not logged onto PBase, and that it's requiring membership in order to view the images, but I'm not sure that's it.

You don't have permission to access /o6/77....

I can't save them or view them. Not a pbase member though. Maybe those that can view them have pbase accounts or something?

Mike.
