Post A permanent FIX for bad BG-E2 issues.

Folks,

I know many 20D owners who have the BG-E2 grip fitted are still encountering problems such premature power loss, Err 99, wobbly fitting, and so forth. I went one step further and ended up breaking the BG-E2's plastic lock dial.

A couple of days ago, I decided to document the steps I took to fix the flexing problem for good. I also know that many returned their defective units to Canon and had a good working replacement but for many still the problems remained a mystery.

Re: A permanent FIX for bad BG-E2 issues.

The L Bracket for the 20D is perfect to make the BG-E2 grip and the 20D not wobble. You still end up tightening the screw on the grip to the body just as a matter of because you loosen it in handling the verical grip.
I always have the BG-E2 attached and never get any wobble at all. I got it to correct the wobble and it worked perfectly.

OK... Now attach your strap to the bottom right on the BG-E2 and the upper left, new strap point. The camera hangs lens down and can be more quicky brought to bare for portrait or landscape and the straps don't get in the way as much. Try it like a quick draw.
