Source for Cheap BP 512 batteries?

Anyone have a good source for inexpensive batteries for Canon 10D/20D/30D cameras? (I bought a beater body for a good price but the batteries are DOA.) Also inexpensive chargers would be of use, too. Not just looking for a source, but also a place where you've done business and they've been trustworthy.
Thanks,
Dan Kapsner

Re: Source for Cheap BP 512 batteries?

I've purchased the 3rd party batteries from Home - MyDigitalDiscount.com Inc. - they seem to work well. They hold the same sort of charge as the factory batteries, and cost 1/5 what the Canon batteries do. However, in my experience, their useful lifetime is shorter - so they end up being maybe about 1/2 the price of the equivalent Canon battery in terms of useful lifetime per dollar spent.

But... at $10/ea or so, how can you beat 'em???

Re: Source for Cheap BP 512 batteries?

I bought a few sets from sterlingktek.com after someone (can't recall) posted here that they were the best. I am now in full agreement.

Make sure that you get their charger and use it with their batteries and not the original one. I have no problem shooting a full wedding on one of their batteries with room to spare and that would have been impossible with originals. Mine are over a year with no sign of fade. Cheap too.

Of course, there are some that would never put a third party battery in their expensive camera - I'm sure Caon & Nikon like them better than me.

midwest photo exchange in cinci ohio (or the web) $19 or so - not sure if that's cheap or not, but i've dealt with Stu and trust them.
