I was running an event at the weekend and one of my shooters was using a 10d (just to prove you don't have to buy the latest toys) but I have noticed something really weird. He used the camera and CF cards all day saturday and shot just over 800 images on 3 different cards. On Sunday he used the same cards and shot a similar number of images. I noticed, but didn't think anythig of it at the time, that occasionally when opening a file in PS (CS2) it would complain that the image had no colour space tag, and did I want to apply the working space, so I just said yes, cropped the file and printed.
Now on reviewing the images prior to burning the lot to DVD, all of saturdays images are fine and approx 2,300kb on disk, and all with an entry in the date/time taken field, but on Sunday form 8:30 ->10:10 random images are only 700k on disk with no date/time taken info. It goes something like image 1 full info, images 2,3,4 no info, image 5,6 OK, 7 No info, 8,9 OK etc. No real pattern. all the images that have no info and are 700K ish when opened in PS have no colour space tag, I then apply the working, and save and the size jumps back to a more typical 2300kb. the time/date taken field stays empty. then from 10:10 for the rest of the day the files are fine again.
I have spoken to the photographer, and he says he changed nothing, and noticed nothing when reviewing on camera.
So have any other 10d owners seen this happen. CF cards were Lexar, but as I say they were used on both days
