Anyone willing to measure the added BG-E2 height.

I know this is a boring task and I could do it also myself by driving in some camera store which has a BG-E2 on display, but still dare to ask you ...

Could anyone measure the amount of millimeters the BG-E2 adds to the 30D (or 20D height)?

Even better would be a comparison to BG-ED3 but that one I can do myself, too.

I have a 10D with BG-ED3 and they do not quite fit in my camera bag with the current quick release plate, but I can manage with it. As I will later update 10D to 30D I'd like to know if I need to consider a new bag or another QR-system, too.

Re: Anyone willing to measure the added BG-E2 heig

From the top if the hot-shoe to the bottom of the grip, my 20D is 15.2 centimeters tall, which means the grip adds about 4.5 cm to the overall height.

FTR, I carry that, plus a 300D (with grip) quite comfortably in a Tamrac Pro 12 bag.

Thanks NJ

In my backpack style bag, the lens is pointing down and the hotshoe is ponting away from my back. If I could put the body on it's side (without a lens) I would have no problems with body+batteryPack height. But the bag is too small for that with Sigma 20/1.8 EX, EF 28-70/2.8L and EF 100-400 plus some accessories (like a flash or such). The bag is an older Tamrac, don't remember the model number.
