Doug thanks.. THe MTF charts on the canon site are not as good comparing the new vs old 85mm 1.2 lenses. However, i do not know the significance of these smalldifferences. mark

Why all the disappointment? Why should every new camera be exciting? Why can't Canon make improvements where they think it's necessary? I don't get all the Poo pooing of this camera. Every change they made was for the better. And what's there to complain about in the 20D anyway? So for about the same money Canon nows sells an improved camera.

I'm impressed!

I like the continued im,provements. These are platforms for better higher end cameras. Stuff will be in there that you don't even know about!

Anyway, I don't expect more from a 30D without a new 1DII. They still want to sell them!

I would expect better use of flash, faster focus, processing and separate ISO button first on 1 1DII before the focusing on a 30D is really upgraded.

Perhaps the disappointments expressed and complaints are due to the fact that no new real technology is incorporated into the 30D. All of the new features could easily have been part of the 20D 18 months ago.
