| Re: Canon RAW software Canon had two conversion programs - EOS Viewer Utility and Digital Photo Pro. Both make good conversions (and DPP in particular) makes excellent conversions. Both have a clunky interface and awkward workflow. EVU was on the disks that shipped with the camera. DPP is a free download from the Canon web site.
There are a bunch of other raw converters out there. If you do not have or do not want Photoshop, you can still use the Adobe Raw Converter with Elements 3 (or 4 if your friend is on windows). ARC offers, IMO, a good interface and better workflow than the Canon software.
