Re: Canon RAW software

Honestly, the POWER of raw is the fact that you can get full image information without JPEG losses. Even if you just do a simple TIFF conversion and THEN edited using any image program. . .you will be way ahead.

BreezeBrowser is a decent option - OK converter and excellent browser (far quickwer than Bridge etc)

Re: Canon RAW software

The Canon DPP software, which I use almost every day is very good. It is easy to use and creates the most beautiful files. I have put tens of thousands of files through it and is not hard to use or learn.

I've used all of the different RAW conversiion products for the Canon RAW files (10D and 20D) and I've found that Photoshop CS2 has the best overall. The workflow is fantastic and it is the most efficient of all of the products.
cheers,
Roger

I too use PS2 daily and it works just fine for me.

Re: Canon RAW software

For those raving about CS2. . . .have you ever tried Capture One?

I percieve the CS2 workflow (which I don't have) to be similar to PhotoShop Elements workflow (which I do have). . .and I can imagine processing a 100 photos in an hour to be a bit tedious.

Re: Canon RAW software

I have just downloaded the Bibble Pro version Trial. It also has Noise Ninja built in. Haven't used it much but it seems to work well.

My RAW to TIFF with CS2 is 5-6 seconds for each 5D image, a little under 5 seconds for 20D images.
DPP 2.1 is roughly the same speed, just a little slower.
