20D: Attack of the blue veins

Just shot my first 55 RAWs on 20D, mostly standard settings.
Shows on RAWs & TIFs
Most images have blue vein effect, especially visible on skin. Here's sample:

http://www.photosphotos.net/blueveins

(smaller file is close up crop)
(larger file is entire image)

What's going on?! Never had this with 10D. Defective camera? Using same Lexar CF cards for 20Ds as with 10Ds

Regards, JG

I bet you haven't updated to the latest versions of Canon's software. This is a RAW conversion software glitch in EVU (at least in my experience it never happened with DPP). Nothing to do with the camera at all. The new software seems to have solved the problem (at least images which previously exhibited this phenomenon now convert without difficulty).

You could have found this by searching.

Alistair & all,

I downloaded the updater & it eliminated problem! You are a GODSEND. A cluster of Canon techs viewing the same image were calling it a sensor problem! They were telling me to ship two new 20D bodies to Jamesburg NJ!

That just boggles the mind. Kinda makes you wonder what's going on down there in Jamesburg.

Brian & all,

The Canon techs are at 800-828-4040x1121 -- don't know that they are in Jamesburg NJ.
