PhaseOne miss the date for Windows Users

New release date for V3.6 now 20th December.
After waiting close to three months to use the product with the 20D, and expecting it to be released next week Windows users are very disappointed.
To make matters worse Phase One announce this three days before the release date for the Mac version.
If Windows customers are to be treated as second class customers then perhaps this should be reflected in a lower price.
Whoever is responsible for customer relations at Phase One should be sent on some special training on how to deal with and put its customers first

Well, if the software isn't ready for release it isn't ready. I'd rather see 'em hold off 'til they get it right. (And since I own both Windows and Mac systems I can use whichever one comes out first anyway!)

Lucky you . Another month of shooting in jpeg for me I guess By the time C1 supports the 20D I may not need or want it any more.

Whilst I like C1 its not the only game in town, we've got DPP and ACR and other RAW conversion software available supporting the newer cameras. I'm certainly not holding my breath for any of the dates now being given and like all software I don't expect it to be perfect when it does arrive even if P1 delays into the New Year.

DPP comes with the camera, and while the interface is clunky, the image produced is execellent. I've been using ISO 1600 a lot lately and am very happy with DPP. DPP 1.5 produces some very nice 1600 ISO images and used with Neat Image 4.4 Pro+ I don't see any noise at all.

Too bad indeed that the release date has been pushed back. Keep in mind though, when C1 first came out it was Windows-only, so MAC users were the ones waiting back then.

Re: PhaseOne miss the date for Windows Users

At first I was upset with the Mac version being released and not windows however this may be a good thing for the windows people. I now look at as the Mac version being a beta windows version in that what corrections (and I'm sure some will be needed) in the Mac version will then be applied to the windows version for release in Dec.

I've tried C1 hacked for 20D files, DPP v1.5, Bibble v4.1, ACR v2.3, BreezeBrowser, and jpeg from the camera. In raw conversion I used as shot with no other adjustments for color, brightness etc and the jpeg was shot in srgb set one. Each converter has its own merits but the only one that had the blues closest to the actual objects(which I have at hand)was bibble with ACR and jpeg at a close second as viewd on my calibrated monitor. I find blues the hardest to get looking correct. Hopefully C1 v3.6 is much improved or I may have to learn how to get the best out of ACR or just give up on raw and shoot jpeg.
