A used IS version in excellent condition should go for around $1000. I bought mine (almost new) for that from someone on this board.

Which brings up an interesting question. B&H has a 300/4L-IS for $1100 after rebate.
.. . .is a $100 discount (9%) for a used lens adequate?
. . . .the $750-$800 prices KEH has for the USED NON-IS lenses also seems to be a bit high.
These Canon Big White Behemouths really do seem to hold there value. . .
A $200 premium for IS and another $100 premium for NEW just seems like the way to go. . . I was thinking that way right up until I put a store lens on my camera => after that I KNEW I needed IS. |
