Re: Rebel Digital Remote

>>However, even shooting jpgs I found when I had the camera on the ground at least 10 minutes after shooting was complete that when I took the remote plug out of the port the camera started writing to the card again. Is this normal or is it another anomaly due to my equipment configuration.<<

It is due to your shooting configuration. Your extension cord is apparently causing the Digital Rebel to "latch up" like I described in my first post, and the camera cannot write to the CF card under this condition. I suspect your extension cord is only linked to 2 of the 3 wires in the RS-60E3.

>>Any comments or suggestions?<<

It sounds like shooting JPEGs makes more sense for your application, because the image quality is sufficient, and the camera will clear its buffer more quickly because the files will be smaller.

Re: Rebel Digital Remote

Hi, Chuck
[ QUOTE ]
Sorry you got confused, Doug, but it is not necessary to place the Digital Rebel in continuous shooting mode to use the RS-60E3. It works just fine in single, continuous or self-timer modes. It's just that John was expecting the Digital Rebel to default to continuous shooting like his old camera did, but the default setting for the Digital Rebel is single frame mode.

Gotcha

[ QUOTE ]
It's just a peculiarity of the Digital Rebel that its remote control terminal is slightly recessed, making it more convenient to angle the plug of the RS-60E3 any other way except straight down or forward

[/ QUOTE ]

No, I'm cool. Mine works fine after the plastic surgery here.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Doug
