Seems to me if your problem was down to algorithms (firmware) there would've been no AF deterioration that anyone could possibly attribute to them. Algorithms don't deteriorate...hardware does. My 10D, with the exact same AF algorithms, has no focusing issues. Therefore the issue is down to hardware or calibration.

So am I understanding you to say that the 10D's will lose acurrate focus after 6 months?
